Connecting students across borders through meaningful conversation and shared learning.
Our Cultural Exchange Program pairs students from the United States with students from other countries for structured, one-on-one conversations that go beyond surface-level introductions. Right now, we are connecting students with peers in South Korea, with plans to expand to other countries as the program grows.
This is not a traditional classroom or tutoring setup. Sessions are conversation-based, built around open-ended topics and real-life experiences. The goal is for both students to learn from each other, share their cultures, and build a genuine connection across borders.
Each pair meets online through Google Meet once a week for 50 minutes, over a total of 8 weeks. Meeting times are arranged directly between the two students based on mutual availability. Sessions are guided by discussion prompts and conversation-based activities designed to encourage natural, meaningful dialogue.
Students who participate in the Cultural Exchange Program develop a broader perspective on the world. They practice communicating across cultural differences, build international friendships, and gain confidence in sharing their own stories and traditions. For many, it is their first opportunity to have a sustained, personal connection with someone from another country.
The program is open to students in grades 7 through 12. U.S.-based students join as Hosts, and international students join as Partners. No special qualifications are required beyond a willingness to engage in honest, respectful conversation.
